Job Description
The position is a department level position reporting to the VP of Operations, managing a team of project managers. We are seeking a business- wise, polished, highly independent manager of the project management department. We need an entrepreneurial minded manager, an "out of the box" thinker, someone able to take the long view for the project management department.
Industries and knowledge preferred: Material handling, logistics, Industrial Construction or Systems Installation, Conveyor Systems, Packaging, Energy, or Oil & Gas. Experience with turn-key projects is a plus

Candidate Profile
- A 4 year Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with an advanced Business Degree/PMP Cert
- Experience in developing a team of Project Managers, and growing a project management department. This position will initially have eight to ten employees reporting to the Manager of Project Management directly
- Provides broad professional expertise in management of the project management department, with multiple projects ranging from 10M to 50M, and multiple levels of complexity
- Experience working in a team environment, incorporating engineering, supply chain and management functions. Exceptional organizational skills as required for guaranteed deliverables to Operations
- Experience in building a reporting controls structure which has been used in applications of a Project management department. A reporting method that applies as the organization grows and develops
- We are seeking a manager who is able to delegate and achieve true results
- Experienced and proven in strategic measures, employee retention, and motivational disciplinary strategies
- Experience Managing P&L of a Project Management department, with strategic thought; highly ethical in business practice. We need a very honest manager, with a proven record
- Strong people development and training skills
- Knowledge of large capital equipment projects, conveyor systems, power plants or industrial systems. Ability to create opportunities within the highest level of an organization, and develop that skill set in the Project Managers reporting to this position
