Job description

We are currently recruiting a System Sales Manager for our client based in Atlanta, GA (other cities to be considered as well). This is an excellent opportunity for an assertive sales person with a proven track record in selling complex automated material handling systems.

In the role of System Sales Manager, you will utilize your experience in selling multi-million-dollar material handling systems and solutions to expand our client's incremental revenue and achieve profitable volume growth within the defined target industries. You are responsible to spawn new bid and contract opportunities. Your hunter type approach to sales combined with excellent presentation and communication skills will help you succeed in selling our client's solutions to new and existing customers.

Your extensive knowledge of automated material handling systems such as AS/RS and subsystems as well as your excellent interpersonal communication skills will help you immensely in the successful long-term expansion of our client's market share.


You will work with international sales and technical teams during all projects' steps and will report to the Director International Sales (based in Europe) to plan and identify all business opportunities. responsibilities include attendance of industry functions, development of our client's unique selling proposition, and building of new distribution channels.

  • Research assigned markets to identify potential customers and leads
  • Give capability presentations to potential customers
  • Build relationships within assigned markets and be the first to know of projects in those markets
  • Make regular sales calls with existing leads and customers in assigned markets
  • Create and present opportunity briefs in order to obtain internal approvals
  • Serve as Sales Project Lead (SPL) on approved opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with the sales and engineering team and vendors to create solutions that meet customer's needs and budget
  • Produce detailed proposals describing the systems solution
  • Produce cost estimates for management approval
  • Create effective, accurate and technically correct customer presentations
  • Coordinate and lead "kick-off" meetings to transfer sold projects to the project implementation team

Candidate profile

  • BA degree in business required (additional engineering degree welcomed)
  • Proven experience in selling warehouse automation systems (AS/RS) and/or related material handling products
  • Large capital equipment sales experience of multi-million dollar projects in a warehouse/ distribution environment
  • Experience with ROI calculations and value-based/value-added selling
  • Entrepreneurial spirit who feels comfortable in a highly multicultural environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and give formal presentations at senior executive level
  • Travel 30%+ expected
  • Current driver's license and passport
