On behalf of our client, Smappee, an innovative company that provides solutions that foster sustainable energy consumption, YER is seeking a Business Developer US.

Job description

The Business Developer US will be growing the Smappee portfolio by looking for growth opportunities and by building long-term business relationships.

More in particular, responsibilities and accountabilities will include the following:

  • You identify and follow-up partners who incorporate Smappee into their own services, within the US.
  • You establish long-term business relationships by figuring out what added value Smappee can mean to your client's business.
  • You meet and negotiate with top-decision makers and identify their issues and needs.
  • You define, elaborate and conclude agreements.
  • You analyze the market and look for possible growth opportunities in order to translate these into concrete actions.

This role reports directly to to the head of Sales/CEO.


Our client, Smappee, is a Belgian headquartered company.  They develop innovative solutions that foster sustainable energy consumption. The company was founded in 2012 by Hans Delabie and Stefan Grosjean, advocate for renewable energy & energy efficiency, international expert in Smart Grids & Energy Management and founder of EnergyICT - now part of Honeywell-.

Smappee has been award-winning ever since. Headquartered in Kortrijk, Belgium, they offer their solutions in 92 countries worldwide

Its smart monitors analyze the use of solar energy, gas, water and electricity. Users (industrial and residential) get insights via itemized bills and discover their energy consumption, energy guzzlers, standby power, etc. in real-time, at anytime and anywhere.

They envision to change its users' energy habits by making saving energy fun and to reduce their energy consumption without compromising on comfort.

Growing significantly, they are looking for a Business Developer US.


  • Your passion for energy and smart home triggers you to take initiative and work independently.
  • You boost the turnover and margin with your strong analytical skills and drive for results.
  • You communicate with strong commercial awareness.
  • You rely on at least a few years of experience as a business developer within a technical environment and with partner sales and / or large accounts.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You travel frequently and you are based in the US (East Coast).
