On behalf of our client, the leading independent developer, manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty door systems for Public Transit buses, YER is seeking an Account Manager.

Job description

As our Account Manager you will be responsible for driving sales and market share growth for the Ventura brand in the North American Passenger Transit Market through a mix of strategic planning, tailoring of national programs, following up on tenders and visiting the MTA's as well as the bus OEM's.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Leading Ventura's participation in (inter)national fleet tenders/negotiations;
  • Working closely with the international sales support function, manage the entire sales process including market interface and market by market international agreement implementation;
  • Effectively manage the financial conditions offered to international customers;
  • Effectively manage the database of prospects and customers, expanding the database through continuous prospecting;
  • Build strong customer relationships through excellence in customer care, customer contact and problem resolution as appropriate;
  • Contribute to the planning of forecasted volumes of (international) agreements;
  • Continuously seek ways to improve margin and volume delivery;
  • Ensure smooth and efficient introduction of new models to existing customers;
  • Respond quickly to customer and prospect enquiries;
  • Maintain regular contact with national and international OEM's and Metropolitan Transit Agencies, to build intelligence base and develop new customer sales opportunities;
  • Organize "account review" calls with fleet and business managers in key markets;
  • Support the planning and organization of events;
  • Communicate with key customers to ensure that their current needs are addressed and to ascertain what their future requirements might be; and
  • Perform other duties if required.

Candidate profile

  • BA/BS degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience;
  • Previous automotive industry experience is preferred;
  • Prior experience working in Fleet and Business sales from a supplier / manufacturer perspective is required, as is knowledge of competitor activity and market dynamics;
  • Successful candidate will also have an awareness of sales and cycle management processes;
  • Must have strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels within the organization;
  • Must also have strong financial/commercial acumen, and the ability to construct a business case;
  • Must possess strong verbal & written communication and networking skills;
  • Be able to define and defend a position based on quantitative and qualitative input;
  • Based in Charlotte NC area, or willing to move;
  • Must be able to travel approximately 50% of the time.
