Job description

For further growth and continued success, the Inside Sales Assistant Manager will be given the opportunity to lead the regional Internal Sales department towards a modern, efficient, customers and market oriented center of profit for the company. The position reports to the Inside Sales Manager and requires a thorough understanding of SAP's ERP and CRM software. Our client is looking for a motivated candidate with hands-on mentality that can work within a small team and has a passion for the technology within the company's industrial areas.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and implement (global) strategies to improve quality, speed and efficiency of service, productivity and profitability
  • Oversee the achievement and maintenance of agreed customer service levels and standard
  • Improve customers' experience, create engaged customers and facilitate organic growth
  • Determines Internal Sales requirements by maintaining contact with customers; visiting operational environments; conducting surveys; benchmarking best practices
  • Take ownership of customers issues and follow problems through to resolution
  • Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions inside company tools
  • Keep ahead of industry's developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement
  • Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities given by sales management
  • Manage hiring, retention and performance of the teams members
  • Direct the daily operations of the Internal Sales teams
  • Identify and address staff training and coaching needs
  • Define, communicate and monitor Internal Sales standards
  • Develop and implement Internal Sales policies and procedures
  • Ensure the necessary resources and tools are available for quality customer service delivery
  • Coordinate the development of processes and standards with the Europe based Global Head of Internal Sales
  • Analyze relevant data to determine Internal Sales outputs
  • Monitor business and process metrics to measure and manage Internal Sales effectiveness
  • Liaise with company management to support and implement growth strategies
  • Ensure budget requirements are met

Von Roll is an international manufacturer of electrical insulation materials used in engineered applications, e.g. Power Generators, Electrical Motors but also Batteries for Electrical Cars. The company is headquartered in Switzerland with 17 sites in 7 countries globally. The North American headquarters are located in Schenectady, NY. They are in need of a Site Manager for their operations in Schenectady. This site has approximately 150 associates and produces both resins and solids sold into the OEM market.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate's Degree + equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 years successful background in sales/customers service
  • Strong customer focus and good negotiation skills
  • Structured and target oriented thinking and acting
  • Good communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Managerial background and some leadership experience preferred
  • Good MS Office skills, strong SAP knowledge
